eScan AntiVirus provides a complete anti-virus solution to protect your computer from malware, spyware and viruses. The software can protect your computer from a variety of attacks and can even detect hackers, spam and phishing routines. The software provides real-time scanning, but it's unsuitable for older, slower computers. One of the drawbacks of this software is that it occupies a significant amount of system resources. Even though Windows has a built-in firewall, the software comes with another firewall that provides additional protection and configuration options to keep your computer safe.

The program is extremely easy to use and doesn't require a great degree of technical ability. Most processes that the program runs are completely automated. If you want a program you can set and forget and have a newer computer, this program provides substantial protection against all forms of threats. You can also get remote assistance with viruses and hackers by using the TeamViewer integration. Truly, this software provides substantial protection for the most demanding users. If security is what you need, the eScan AntiVirus program delivers. However, advanced users may find it lacking in the ability to customize and adjust the configuration options.

The trial version does provide basic functionality, but the professional version allows you to protect your computer from spam using real-time scanning. The options to block HTTP communications and prevent websites that use certain cookies, scripts, applets and even specific keywords provides a great addition for parents looking to protect their children from threats. Ultimately, the software provides everything you need to scan for viruses, protect against malware and keep your computer safe from harm.

When you first launch the program, you can see a series of options in the sidebar. The "Status" button allows you to check to make sure the program is running properly. The "Objects" section lets you set the preferences for the types of hard drives and manner that the program scans your computer for threats. The "Options" section allows you to set options and advanced configuration to determine how the program runs. You can also use the "Customize," "Statistics" and "Quarantine" option to change advanced settings. "Customize" allows you to configure the specific way in which the program appears. The "Quarantine" option holds files that may be threats until you get a chance to manually remove them from the system. "Statistics" shows a list of infections by type and how many infections have been removed to date.

Overall, the program provides significant protection against all forms of attacks. But, the sluggishness of the program could be a failing point for some users.
